• Location: Mount Vernon, IL (62864) – Southern Illinois healthcare
• Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens
• Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – 7 licensed beds, 2:1 patient ratio
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Contract Length: 20 weeks
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: February 1, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
• Charting System: EPIC
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,950 - $2,090

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or Critical Care nursing experience
• Active Illinois RN license required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; Bachelor\'s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Ability to float to Med-Surg or Emergency Room (ER) as needed (orientation provided)
• Strong clinical skills, adaptability, and resilience
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Must reside outside a 40-mile radius from Mount Vernon, IL

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in a 7-bed ICU with a 2:1 patient ratio
• Monitor, assess, and treat critically ill patients in an acute care setting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to Med-Surg or ER as needed (orientation provided)
• Serve as a resource for staff and may cover as House Supervisor (orientation provided)
• Perform crash cart checks, temperature checks, and manage supplies/medications
• Document patient care and interventions accurately using EPIC
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
