POSITION SUMMARY
Ensures and supports proper cleaning and sanitation of all areas of the facility and equipment. Conducts all aspects of job duties in a safe and responsible manner. Complete associated documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
COMPENSATION:
$15.00 - $17.00 hourly
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Performs daily sanitation activities throughout the warehouse facility, including preventative building maintenance using specialized equipment (floor scrubbers, power washers, steam cleaners, etc.) Conducts thorough cleaning and sanitizing of shared spaces including coolers, freezers, loading docks, bathrooms and common areas following commercial kitchen sanitation standards Cleans and sanitizes all food contact surfaces including walls, floors, shelving, doors, dock plates, pallet racking, and warehouse equipment Implements effective cleaning practices using approved chemicals, proper dilution ratios, and required contact times for sanitizers Utilizes color-coded cleaning tool systems to prevent cross-contamination between different facility zones Monitors and maintains proper sanitation of condensation drains, eliminates moisture buildup, and addresses potential harboring conditions Identifies and reports pest activity, food hazards, and maintenance issues immediately to management Monitors and documents temperature readings for coolers, freezers, and cleaning/sanitizing solutions Safely handles, mixes, and applies cleaning chemicals and sanitizers according to manufacturer specifications and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Operates and maintains warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and material handling equipment Transports cleaning supplies, equipment, and chemical containers safely throughout the facility Performs lockout/tagout procedures when cleaning or servicing equipment Ensure proper storage and labeling of all cleaning chemicals and supplies Completes daily sanitation logs, cleaning checklists, and temperature monitoring records accurately and on time Documents pre-operational inspections and sanitation verification results Assists management with special projects, deep cleaning initiatives, and seasonal preparation activities Participates in continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitation and food safety Supports warehouse operations during peak periods as needed. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
One year of relevant work experience in food safety in a manufacturing or distribution environment. High school Diploma Knowledge of food and health regulatory standards Food safety audit concepts and housekeeping techniques Ability to work in a freezer/cooler environment. Capable of following directions and communicating effectively. Skills in operation and maintenance of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, coolers, freezers, electronic scales, etc. Forklift Certification and Material Handling Equipment. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks. Strong work ethic with the tenacity to work under extreme pressure. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours of Operation: Although organization hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., it may work closer to 45 - 50 hours per week, especially during peak times such as holiday seasons, growing seasons, and disaster response. After-hours business work is required occasionally throughout the year. Environment: This position works in a warehouse setting with long periods of standing, talking, and/or visual concentration, and requires the highest levels of safety standards. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hand and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk, hear, and smell. Travel: No regular travel with this position. OSHA Standards Lifting requirements are 50 pounds and when lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.
