Location:
This position is based in
Shreveport, LA , operating across local, regional, and interstate routes as assigned.
Schedule:
This is a
full-time, non-exempt position
requiring an average of five (5) days per week and a minimum of 240 working days per year. Drivers are expected to maximize available driving hours in accordance with
DOT regulations .
Saturday work may be required
based on customer needs.
About the Job:
The
Company Driver (CDL A)
is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company tractor-trailers to transport freight between various points of origin and destination. This role ensures that all cargo is secured and delivered on time while maintaining compliance with all
Department of Transportation (DOT)
and company safety policies.
In This Role, You Will: Load, unload, or assist in loading/unloading trailers with product. Transport freight via tractor-trailer between designated locations (interstate and intrastate). Review load assignments and verify all paperwork, permits, and licenses are current and compliant. Plan routes to ensure pickup and delivery timelines align with DOT Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. Secure loads per federal, state, and company standards, ensuring weight compliance and obtaining scale tickets when necessary. Conduct daily
Pre-Trip, In-Transit, and Post-Trip inspections
of equipment and cargo. Report maintenance issues, damages, or delays to dispatch and maintenance promptly. Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and regulatory documentation. Communicate with dispatch using eLogs, cell phones, and satellite communication systems. Follow all safety policies, including personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. May be required to sleep in the cab of the tractor as needed. Perform all other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications:

Requirements:
Must be at least
23 years of age . Valid
Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) . Minimum of
two (2) years of verifiable over-the-road (interstate/intrastate)
tractor-trailer experience. At least
twelve (12) months of flatbed steel hauling
preferred. No more than
three (3) moving violations
or
two (2) minor preventable accidents
in the past three years. Must meet all
DOT physical, medical, and substance testing requirements . No
DUI
within the last five (5) years. Experience with
satellite communication and eLog systems
strongly preferred. Must have and maintain a working
cell phone . Desired:
Strong route planning and time management skills. Safety-focused, dependable, and professional demeanor. Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities. Team-oriented with a commitment to operational excellence. Work Environment:
This role operates
indoors and outdoors , with exposure to adverse conditions including weather, noise, dust, heat, cold, and wind. Drivers may work near moving machinery, vehicles, chemicals, and confined spaces.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and carry up to
100 lbs occasionally ,
50 lbs frequently , and
20 lbs regularly . Frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and reaching required. Ability to operate a commercial motor vehicle for extended periods. Close visual acuity, normal hearing (with correction), and clear communication required.
