Job Title: Sonographer, Client Fetal Medicine Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Ultrasound Tech Client Fetal Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:30 - 16:00) Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in Client Fetal Medicine required License: Virginia license required Certifications: RDMS-OB, NT (Nuchal Translucency) Must-Have: - Experience in Client, High-risk OB, and Nuchal Translucency - Experience in Doppler Studies and M-Mode - Experience with Fetal Echo (preferred) Description: The registered sonographer works closely with Client Fetal Medicine providers, genetic counselors, medical assistants, nurses, and patient care representatives. On average, between 50-100 patients are seen by a team of providers. All OB exams and a few GYN pelvic exams are performed. OB exams include: First Trimester Viability Nuchal Translucency Early Anatomy Detailed Anatomical Survey Third Trimester Anatomy Cervical Length Assessment Biophysical Profile Limited TTTS protocol with limited sonogram Multiple Ultrasound Guided Invasive Procedures (amniocentesis, CVS, D&C/D&E, Saline Sonohysterogram) Fetal Echo Doppler studies (umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery, ductus venosus, umbilical vein) A wide range of patient diagnoses are encountered daily, including congenital cardiac defects, skeletal dysplasia, and open neural tube defects.
