Description

SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $85,000 per year

In determining compensation, various factors will be considered, including but not limited to, educational background; relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, market factors; and geographic location.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide Data Analysis support for the United States Navy (USN) CBM (condition-based maintenance) program for Hull, Mechanical, and Electric (HM&E) equipment. This position will work directly with Senior Data Scientists to apply data science, machine learning, statistical modeling, and/or data visualization principles and techniques in the development of digital solutions in support of machinery condition assessment for USN HM&E equipment.

LOCATION: Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, West Bethesda, MD

EDUCATION (REQUIRED):
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline, two (2) years of experience in related work
SKILL SETS (RECOMMENDED/PREFFERED):
  • Analysis of Government-provided data and building a database from the data (Preferably in Flank Speed Power BI if someone on your team has the skillset)
  • Tracking/organizing incoming data and keeping the database current
  • Assistance in analyzing/reviewing test plans
  • Updating Navy documents such as mil specs, NSTM chapters, or NAVSEA Standard Items
  • Supporting knowledge management by assisting in the organizing of Government-provided data and reports
  • Experience with Python in the application of data analysis, data management and/or machine learning
  • Experience in statistics and statistical analysis
  • Interest in data analytics, data visualization, and/or machine learning
  • Self-starter, willing to work alone and in a group
  • Ability to provide clear and concise feedback to solve problems as they arise
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Successful applicants must either have an active government security clearance or meet the requirements to obtain a clearance.
