Job Title: Chemist I Location: Ashland, VA Hours/Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm Pay: $20-$24/hour Type: Contract with potential for Hire Overview: Our growing and established client is looking for a Chemist who will conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses in a laboratory setting to support quality control, process optimization, and product development. This role involves analyzing compounds, preparing solutions, and collaborating with scientists and engineers to improve existing processes and develop new products. Responsibilities: Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, and reactions. Improve and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods. Compile and analyze test data to assess process or equipment efficiency and diagnose malfunctions. Prepare technical papers, reports, standards, and specifications for processes, facilities, products, or tests. Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory testing. Collaborate with scientists and engineers on research projects and assist in interpreting results. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred). 2 years of relevant industry experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Basic knowledge of chemical composition, structures, properties, and processes. Ability to analyze data and accurately document results. Desired Skills: Experience with Gas Chromatography (GC) or Liquid Chromatography (LC) Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). #LI-ED1 #M3 Ref: #558-Scientific
