Overview
Pharmacist Manager - Nights, Amazon Pharmacy. Join Amazon Pharmacy to help people get medications and stay healthy. This role requires a Pharmacy Director-level focus on leading a team and driving operational excellence in Pharmacy Operations.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of 10-25 direct reports within Pharmacy Operations. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of department performance at the site.
- Determine which decisions can be made independently and which require approval; pursue approvals and coordinate with other stakeholders to align on decisions.
- Plan and implement processes and procedures to meet customers' needs, improve department results, and drive efficiencies.
- Interview, hire, and support documented training experiences for all team members in partnership with Recruiting, Human Resources, and Training teams.
- Develop team members by providing mentorship, educational opportunities, and progressive growth opportunities.
- Ensure performance management and accountability for the department team members.
- Challenge best practices to identify novel solutions; set context and purpose for initiatives.
- Maintain regular check-ins with direct reports and ensure staffing, hiring, and scheduling support company goals and forecasted budget.
- Identify opportunities for improvement based on data, perform root-cause analysis, and implement solutions; communicate risks and recommendations.
- Provide leadership with business review data; identify highlights and areas for improvement; collaborate with stakeholders to remove roadblocks and optimize workflows.
- Consult and collaborate with product teams to prioritize and drive Roadmap initiatives; execute Company objectives through Amazon Leadership Principles relevant to the department.
- Leverage subject matter expertise in organizational product, partner, process initiatives, compliance, and quality; support pharmacy interns and relationships with pharmacy schools for learning experiences.
- Perform other required tasks as noted or assigned by senior leadership.
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
- Ability to work from the Amazon Pharmacy facility
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in domicile state
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in a minimum of 8 out of 17 US states which require a Non-resident PIC license, or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months in role. PIC will assign the 8 state licenses based on current redundancy needs. This requirement applies to roles tied to a dispensing pharmacy location.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations surrounding pharmacy practices and patient safety
- Progressive pharmacy management experience
- Proven track record of team leadership, growth and development
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Robust written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adjust focus as needed
- Ability to collaborate with leaders and peers at various levels within the organization
