Environmental Operator

Basic Job Functions: This position is responsible for the safe monitoring, operation, and maintenance of all environmental control equipment, systems, and programs. In addition, this position will be responsible for assisting in the assurance of compliance with air and water permit regulations, stormwater management, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, radiation safety program, ISO 14001, serving as an alternate emergency coordinator under HAZWOPER and assisting with regulatory reporting requirements. The qualified candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications: One year's experience in steel operations Ability to safely work at heights, in confined spaces, and with hazardous chemicals/waste Preferred Qualifications: Experience in related industry Mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance program experience Experience in water treatment, CEMS, pollution control equipment, and other environmental operations and compliance
