Dental Assistant DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Escort patients into dental treatment rooms and prepare patient and chart for the dentist.
• Sanitize all surfaces of the dental room, ensure proper equipment is functioning, discard disposable supplies and instruments, and prepare instruments and supplies for the next patient.
• Perform and develop diagnostic x-rays and panoramic x-rays when necessary.
• Assist the dentist by handling instruments and supplies, suctioning, irrigating, taking teeth impressions, as directed by the dentist.
• Dismiss patients after treatment, providing assistance as needed.
• Clean the patient area of the dental treatment room, remove instruments and supplies, and ensure the room is ready for the next patient.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies in each room.
• Perform suctioning on a rotational basis.

Dental Assistant EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Required to have one of the following: DA Certificate, High School Diploma, College diploma, or 1 year of experience.
• Ability to relate well to people.
