Patient Care Specialist

warmly welcomes and registers patients, ensuring a prompt, pleasant, and helpful experience. You will provide directions, manage schedules, and assist with various administrative tasks in our friendly environment. This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours of work per week during our standard business hours of 7:00 am to 6:30 pm PST, Monday through Saturday. Occasional overtime may be needed based on business requirements. Please note, this role is onsite at 100A Drakes Landing Road, Greenbrae, CA 94904. We provide 4-6 weeks of comprehensive training to help you succeed, scheduled based on your availability. Key Responsibilities: Greet patients upon arrival and manage wait times effectively. Complete check-in and check-out tasks, including insurance verification and pre-authorizations. Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles while issuing receipts. Maintain the cashier box, ensuring daily deposits align with company policy. Support walk-in patients and visitors with their needs. Answer phone calls, direct inquiries appropriately, assist with questions, and take messages as needed. Manage medical records by maintaining, filing/scanning, and preparing documents for scheduling. Ensure all correspondence is scanned and/or filed correctly and process requests for medical records. Cultivate effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public. Required Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED (or higher). A minimum of 1 year of customer service or healthcare-related experience. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work onsite at 100A Drakes Landing Road, Greenbrae, CA 94904. Availability to work during standard business hours of 7:00 am - 6:30 pm PST, Monday through Saturday, with occasional overtime as needed. Must be 18 years of age or older. Preferred Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience with electronic health records. 1 year of experience in healthcare roles, particularly in scheduling. Experience managing multi-system phone lines and handling telephone inquiries. Familiarity with medical terminology. Proficiency in cash handling and performing mathematical calculations accurately. Soft Skills: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining good judgment. Proven track record of effectively collaborating with healthcare providers. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines consistently. Capacity to thrive under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, conveying information clearly and interpreting it effectively. Pay will be determined by various factors, including local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications. The hourly pay for this position ranges from $17.74 to $31.63, based on full-time employment status. We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
