Overview

Our Critical Power Group maintains, services, and troubleshoots UPS systems, batteries, and other critical infrastructure equipment. Our technicians are factory trained on major UPS manufacturers such as MGE/APC, Liebert, Toshiba/Mitsubishi, and Powerware/Eaton. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, emergency service calls, and technical support at high-profile government, institutional, and commercial sites.

Responsibilities

  • Travel daily with an independent work structure.
  • Be available for emergency calls 24/7 unless on PTO or Off Call.
  • Maintain company-issued equipment, tools, and instruments.
  • Install and repair static switch and PDU systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and testing.
  • Interface with customers and communicate availability status to management.
  • Protect proprietary information and use testing equipment as necessary.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and maintain vehicle safety and documentation.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Provide technical support and maintain documentation.
  • Attend product-specific training and cross-train others as needed.

Additional Duties

  • Inspect static switch systems and associated controls, including maintenance checks and failure analysis.
  • Certify systems adhere to quality standards.
  • Review system drawings, determine maintenance needs, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide technical assistance, perform inspections, and advise on maintenance practices.
  • Maintain operational expertise with testing instruments.
  • Be available 24/7 when on call, with possible overnight travel.

Supervisory Controls

Work is under general supervision with assignments based on schedules and priorities. The role aims to ensure reliability and quality of power systems through inspection and certification.

Qualifications

  • AA/BS in Electrical/Electronics or equivalent training.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with UPS systems, batteries, and electrical apparatuses.

Candidate Expectations

  • Ability to interpret schematics and knowledge of NEC standards.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and experience with testing and inspection.
  • Proficiency with laptops, software, and communication devices.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to undergo manufacturer training.
