Critical Power Group

This group maintains, services, and troubleshoots UPS systems, batteries, and critical infrastructure equipment. Our technicians are factory trained on major UPS manufacturers and perform preventive maintenance, testing, and emergency services at high-profile facilities. We also provide engineering and technical support.

Responsibilities

  1. Travel daily with an independent work structure.
  2. Be available for emergency calls 24/7 unless on PTO or off call.
  3. Maintain company-issued equipment, tools, and instruments.
  4. Install and repair static switch and PDU systems.
  5. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
  6. Interface with customers and communicate availability to the office and team leads.
  7. Protect proprietary information and maintain accurate records.
  8. Use electronic and electrical test equipment as needed.
  9. Coordinate subcontractors on-site when necessary.
  10. Maintain vehicle safety and insurance compliance.
  11. Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly.
  12. Provide technical support to customers and maintain documentation.
  13. Attend product-specific training and cross-train others as needed.

Other Duties

  • Inspect static switch systems and associated components, certify adherence to standards, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform technical inspections, maintenance, and provide expert advice to site personnel.
  • Meet physical demands, including lifting batteries and working at heights, observing safety standards.
  • Maintain operational expertise with various instruments.
  • Be available 24/7 when on call, with potential overnight travel.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Supervisory Controls

Work under general supervision, with freedom within policies. The role focuses on inspection and certification of power electronics to ensure reliability and quality of power systems.

Qualifications

  • AA/BS in Electrical/Electronics or equivalent training.
  • At least 2+ years of experience with UPS systems, batteries, and electrical apparatuses.

Candidate Expectations

  • Ability to interpret schematics, knowledge of NEC, and maintenance practices.
  • Diagnose malfunctions using testing techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic communication devices.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to undergo training.
