Utili-Serve is seeking a dedicated Below Grade Technician to assist with the construction and modification of electrical substations. This hands-on role involves working under direct supervision in a physically demanding environment that includes confined spaces, elevated work areas, and exposure to energized equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent decision-making abilities, and the flexibility to adapt to changing work conditions and locations.
Responsibilities
- Construct and modify electrical substations in accordance with project specifications and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in day-to-day team activities and field operations.
- Follow through on tasks, questions, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Represent the company with professionalism at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects accurately and efficiently.
- Contribute to open communication and a positive team environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in construction or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of construction practices, quality standards, and applicable codes.
- Familiarity with substation structural drawings (elevations, plan views, grounding details, and foundation plans).
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights up to 125 feet.
- Ability to safely work near energized substation equipment.
- Capable of lifting 50+ lbs. and learning to operate heavy equipment.
