POSITION/TITLE: Warehouse Worker

WORK LOCATION: Mt. Sterling, OH

POSITION REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager

WORK TYPE: On site

JOB SUMMARY: The position is responsible for driving a Forklift/PIT (Power Industrial Truck) to load and unload trailers, ensures movement of raw and packaging materials of finished product from Warehouse to Production, pulls and verifies orders, receives shipments, checks deliveries of product from trailer, and performs other tasks assigned by supervisor, manager, or group leader.

Essential Job Functions

  • Pulls orders in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Loads trailers, ensuring optimum space utilization, maintains accurate loading documents.
  • Receives shipments coming into the warehouse.
  • Checks deliveries to determine authorization, correctness and damage, if any.
  • Maintain a constant count and visual inspection of product to ensure the correct product and number is received.
  • Maintains a daily, clean and proper appearance of product.
  • Repackages damaged product as needed.
  • Makes sure all paperwork is completed and turned into the warehouse office.
  • Carries and dumps trash cans.
  • Performs preventive maintenance checklist on the forklifts.
  • Participates in the training of new team members.
  • Performs additional assignments and/or special projects that may require physical activity beyond those required functions of the job.
  • Maintains housekeeping standards by keeping a clean work area at all times, this includes sweeping and mopping.
  • Collaboration with plant and safety leadership.
  • Adheres to all good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, HACCP and SQF process requirements.
  • Follows WinCup OPERA Values, safety initiatives, and other related plant standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements: High school graduate or GED equivalent.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Previous warehousing experience preferred
  • Mathematical knowledge.
  • Basic PC skills including Excel and use of web based applications to use FedEx, UPS and print labels.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) - Must be able to speak, read and write English in order to complete job specific paperwork.
  • Ability to work independently and function as a team member.
  • Good planning and organizing skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (Manufacturing Plant)

  • Team Member will frequently be required to actively listen and exchange information.
  • Team Member will be required to observe and assess information in a fast paced environment.
  • Requires frequent use of a production, manufacturing equipment and/or machinery.
  • Will be required to frequently move/transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds which may require frequent bending, twisting and reaching motions.
  • Team Member may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Team Member may be required to stand for long periods up to 8, 10 or 12 hours shifts.
  • Team Member may be required to talk, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch.

WORK ENVIRONMENT (Manufacturing Plant)

  • Work space is one that contains moving mechanical parts.
  • Requires work in an indoor manufacturing environment that may be exposed to extreme heat that is not air conditioned.
  • Work environment contains loud noises and odors that may last for long periods of time or on a continual basis as well as occasional airborne particles.
  • Must wear PPE while working, which includes hairnet, facial net, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards at all times.
  • Ability to work an 8+, 10+ or 12+ hour shifts as designated.
  • Able to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as designated.
