Responsibilities

• Operate at a high production speed on the following machines: Bulldozer, Excavator, Motor Grader, Skid Steer, Mini-Ex, Haul Truck, Front End Loader, and Rollers. Any finishing experience is a plus.
• Create level surfaces, grade slopes to specifications, remove material and fill voids using plans or guidance from the survey team.
• Maintain equipment in proper operating condition by performing simple preventive maintenance tasks and/or making minor repairs as required.
• Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure it is in proper operating condition.
• Work with the Superintendent or Foreman to help ensure that work is flowing smoothly throughout the day.
• Help the Superintendents and Foreman identify areas needing improvement in production processes.
• Perform general labor as needed.
• Attend training and safety meetings.
• Store and clean machinery at its designated location and note any deficiencies.
• Familiar with staking and checking grade.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to process information quickly and accurately.
• Takes direction well and strives to increase knowledge and ability on given machines.
• Must understand material consistency and compaction techniques.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment listed above.
• Ability to follow plans and collaborate with field supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Willingness to learn and operate additional equipment as needed.
