Senior Human Resources (HR) Generalist

Matrixed reporting to AOP Chief People Officer and JYI Dir Reg Operations

Position Summary
This position directly supports the daily operations of the human resources function within Jordan-Young Institute. This role focuses on recruitment, employee relations, regulatory compliance, and supporting clinical and administrative staff. The ideal candidate is experienced in healthcare HR, understands the demands of a clinical setting, and can navigate HR challenges with discretion and professionalism. This position operates in a busy orthopedic practice setting, with interaction with medical staff, patients, and practice leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manages end-to-end employee lifecycle from recruitment to offboarding for all clinical and administrative roles
- Creates job postings, screens candidates, coordinates interviews, and oversees HR workflows. Develops and updates job descriptions as needed.
- Facilitates new hire onboarding, delivers orientation, and collects required documentation
- Coordinates offboarding for all separations
Employee Relations
- Serves as a point of contact for employee concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace issues. Escalates as needed.
- Supports managers in performance reviews and disciplinary actions
- Promotes a culture of respect, accountability, and teamwork
Compliance & Policy
- Ensures compliance with HR-related regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and applicable laws
- Supports maintenance and updating of HR policies, employee handbooks, and SOPs
Compensation & Benefits
- Facilitates performance review process and coaches managers
- Supports payroll processes and HRIS updates
- Assists with benefits enrollment, leave management, and HR reporting
- Contributes to compensation benchmarking and retention strategies
Training & Development
- Develops and delivers training needs assessments and programs
- Supports staff development and career pathing
- Tracks onboarding and training completion
HR Reporting & Systems
- Maintains employee records and generates HR reports
- Uses technology to improve operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Healthcare Admin, or related
- 5+ years HR experience, including 2+ in healthcare setting
- Experience supporting medical staff
- Certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred
- Knowledge of employment laws and healthcare HR compliance
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, Paylocity experience a plus
