We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team in the construction industry. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HR best practices and employment law, with the ability to adapt to the fast-paced and hands-on nature of the construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Staffing:
    • Manage full-cycle recruitment for field and office positions.
    • Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and sourcing strategies.
    • Coordinate interviews, job offers, and pre-employment screenings.
  • Onboarding & Orientation:
    • Facilitate smooth onboarding for new hires, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct new hire orientations and ensure proper documentation.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
    • Assist in resolving employee relations issues with discretion and fairness.
    • Promote a positive and safe workplace culture.
  • Compliance & Record Keeping:
    • Maintain HR records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Ensure adherence to EEO, OSHA, FMLA, and other labor laws relevant to construction operations.
    • Support audits and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
  • Benefits & Compensation:
    • Assist in benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and claims resolution.
    • Support annual open enrollment processes and employee communications.
  • Performance Management & Training:
    • Support performance review processes and assist in developing employee improvement plans.
    • Coordinate training programs including safety, leadership development, and compliance.
  • HR Projects & Initiatives:
    • Participate in HR initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement, retention, and operational efficiency.
    • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, or similar).
