Responsibilities
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at check lanes.
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders and offers according to company policy.
- Adhere to cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads.
- Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
- Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
- Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
- Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
- Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
- Customer service experience.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

- Customer service experience.
- Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.
