The Sanitation Assistant is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen and dishwashing area, including china, silverware, floors, and equipment.

Responsibilities include:

• Operating a dish machine to wash dishes, glasses, cups, trays, silverware, and food service equipment.
• Setting up and cleaning the dish machine area, checking temperatures and soap dispensing levels.
• Storing clean and dry equipment and utensils.
• Assisting in maintaining preparation and service areas in a sanitary condition.
• Attending trainings and in-services to meet state regulations and personal and professional standards and expectations.
• Emptying garbage to the dump site and maintaining the dumpster area.
• Sweeping and mopping floors.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements include:

• Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26+ pounds with manual or mechanical assistance.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to stand, stoop, and bend for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to read and understand written and verbal communication.
• Understanding of state, federal, and local sanitation policies and procedures.
