Base pay range

$23.00/hr - $24.00/hr

Position Title: Lead Janitor.

Division: Advancia Technologies.

Shift: 7:00 am-3:30 pm OR 3:30 pm – 12:00 am.

Hourly Rate: $23.00/hr-$24.00/hr + $4.93 H&W.

Position Summary

The Shift Lead Janitor is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the daily tasks and duties of the housekeeping staff to ensure cleanliness and efficiency while maintaining the highest level of consistent quality assurance standards and safety.

  • Cleaning exam rooms, offices, bathrooms, and public areas, including dusting, floor cleaning, and washing windows/mirrors.
  • Cleaning common areas, hallways, corridors, floors, elevators, and stairwells.
  • Terminal cleaning of exam rooms (Disinfecting surfaces, fixtures and equipment, using appropriate cleaning agents, and following infection control protocols).
  • Restock restroom supplies and other consumables.
  • Maintaining an infection-free environment throughout the hospital.
  • Utilizing approved cleaning solutions for proper disinfection.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, residents, and healthcare staff.
  • Respond to emergencies in relation to cleaning hospital environment.
  • Strip, scrub, seal, and wax floors.
  • Empty, sanitize, and reline trash containers.
  • Dust furniture as well as equipment.
  • Use various types of cleaning equipment, like vacuum cleaners, washing machines, etc.
  • Document the procedure involved in the disposal of hospital waste products and ensure that the right procedure in line with the standard practice of the hospital is followed.
  • May be required to wipeout blood or other bodily fluids and disinfect the area of contact.

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • At least one (1) year experience in hospital janitorial services within the last two (2) years.
  • At least one (1) year experience in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Ability to pass background checks to obtain security access badge.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background test.
  • Must pass a fitness for duty exam.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in languages other than English, especially Spanish.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Working Environment

  • Typical workweek: however, it may require some long days to meet periodic upturn in business demands or meet deadlines.

Physical Demands (including But Not Limited To)

  • Duties may include standing for long periods of time with frequent reaching, sitting, walking, twisting, stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Employee may be required to pass a functional capacity test for this position.
