This position exists to provide administrative assistance to nursing and medical staff. Duties include ensuring all residents are scheduled for/and assisting in transporting residents to/from appointments as ordered and continual maintenance of the facility's medical records by auditing, filing, sorting and ordering proper forms.
Crisis Prevention Intervention and Trauma Informed Care are the cornerstone of treatment at Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center. De-Escalation techniques and coping mechanism are offered to residents and life skills are taught to assist with success upon discharge. The incumbent will observe professional ethics and boundaries in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding personal, financial, and medical information of the residents.
SATC is an Adolescent Treatment Center serving the needs of male adolescents, ages 13-17 with a history of violence and/or aggression who have been diagnosed with a mental disability.
Ideal Candidate: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently are necessary. Prior experience providing administrative support in a healthcare. Candidate should have experience working with insurance rules, medical billing and record medical data. Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently, with a positive, team-oriented, and supportive attitude.
Minimum Qualification: High School diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of experience providing administrative support in a healthcare setting to include experience in CPT coding and/or medical billing. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements: Employment is subject to nationwide background search pursuant to NM Caregivers Criminal Screening Act, (Sections 29-17-2 through 29-17-5 NMSA 1978, and 7.1.9.1 through 7.1.9.11 NMAC.). Post offer Pre-employment Tuberculosis Test (TB) is required.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an adolescent treatment center, with exposure to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents, who may exhibit unpredictable behaviors. This position may work in an office setting using related office equipment, with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Ability to push and/or pull, lift and/or carry fifty (50) pounds +/- with assistance may be required.
Salary: $16.50 - $24.75 Hourly, $34,320 - $51,480 Annually. This position is a Pay Band C2.
