Job Details

- Provides support in daily tasks and projects as directed by the principal and/or designee
- Requires working knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets...) to assist with preparing letters, emails, reports and compiling data
- Assists in prioritizing and managing tasks to improve operational efficiency
- Manages the principal's calendar, including scheduling meetings and events
- Assists with maintaining the school calendar, including field trips and other building events
- Assists with coordinating school events, staff meetings, and other gatherings ensuring logistics are handled efficiently
- Helps plan and carry out school events, including graduation, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, etc.
- Organizes and attends meetings, taking minutes
- Maintains and updates school records, student information systems, and databases
- Assists with managing the high school budget by tracking expenses and processing purchase orders
- Orders and maintains inventory of office supplies and equipment for the office
- Maintains confidential files and records
- Communicates effectively with various stakeholders
- Assists LHS secretarial team as needed
Salary Schedule / Classification / Benefit Days
- Hourly-paid, non-union position
- Compensation as determined by placement on the Lorain City Schools Wage Grid for Non-Represented Paraprofessional salary grid; Classification = Level III-C
- Salary Range: Low = $15.62 per hour -- High = $27.03 per hour
- Training Allowance = may be eligible for additional hourly compensation for Treasurer-approved professional certificaton in related field and/or Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree (verified with official transcripts)
- Paid Holidays = eligible for 13 paid holidays per school year
- Paid Vacation = eligible for 20 days of paid vacation per school year (accrued at 1.66 days per month)
- Paid Sick Days = eligible for 15 days of paid sick leave per school year (accrued at 1.25 days per month)
- Paid Justifiable Leave = eligible for up to 3 days of paid justifiable leave per school year (only for specified / approved emergency situations)
- Paid Accrued Leave = eligible for up to four (4) days of paid accrued leave per school year (based upon annual sick leave balance)
- Retirement = enrollment into the State Employees Retirement System (SERS)
- Insurance = eligible to participate in district's medical, dental, vision, prescription, and life insurance programs (employee cost varies by coverage level elected)
Workdays / Hours
- Monday - Friday
- 8 hours per day (with 30-minute unpaid lunch period)
- 260 work days per school year (work year = July 1st - June 30th)
- If hired after the start of the school year, the number of work days for the 2025/26 school year will be pro-rated to the date-of-hire
- First Workday of 2025/26 SY = Friday, August 1, 2025
