Wyandot Memorial Hospital is hiring: Clinical Medical Office Assistant in Marion

Job Overview

• Position: Clinical Medical Office Assistant
• Status: Full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday, approximately 80 hours per two-week pay period. Must be willing to work within office schedule as needed and accommodate practitioner’s schedule for vacation/time off and call-offs.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited medical assisting program; background in physician practice work. Preference given to candidates with previous physician office experience.
• Willing to work within office schedule as needed and accommodate physician/practitioner schedule for vacation/time off and call-offs.
• Must be BLS certified.
• Experience with EMR a plus.

Responsibilities

• Triages patients by phone and assists with daily patient care and patient-related activities/procedures.
• Schedules appointments and procedures (lab tests and treatments); arranges appointments and obtains authorizations as necessary.
• Rooms patients; collects specimens for lab tests and performs tests as indicated; interprets lab values and is familiar with normal and abnormal lab values and medication uses.
• Demonstrates knowledge of coding for patient services/procedures; assists with surgical procedures and administers medications and treatments under physician guidance.
• Accurately documents patient chart information; maintains equipment, instruments, medications, and inventory control for supplies.
• Performs additional duties as assigned; maintains professional, courteous interpersonal and customer service skills.
