Responsibilities
- Ensure safety and environmental policies are followed and maintained in the operation.
- Use sound judgment to ensure the end customer is satisfied.
- Plan and execute scheduling for production line(s) to meet production schedules while challenging teams to achieve higher results utilizing the company’s operational systems.
- Manage all personnel and sequencing functions for production line(s), ensuring inbound and outbound teams have the support they need to run an efficient operation and maximize productivity.
- Review and prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, efficiency, materials supply, and personnel resources; assign associates to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements.
- Ensure all quality related items for Production line(s) are complete and documented to meet established quality standards.
- Lead cost reduction and process improvement in multiple cells or a complex cell to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
- Spearhead activities for materials and logistics problem resolution for multiple cells or a complex cell to ensure availability of materials and smooth operation.
- Participate in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures.
- Formalize and implement best practices utilizing Vontier lean manufacturing methodology (VBS).
- Develop schedules and personnel requirements for assigned areas; maintain reports, records, and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods, and other manufacturing aspects.
- Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's guidelines, procedures, and policies plus applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, directing work, appraising performance, and addressing employee relations with HR support.
- Provide analytical support to the business/team to support root cause analysis as needed.
- Support overall timekeeping and attendance tracking, ensuring systems are accurate and updated.
- Ensure compliance with company policy, procedures, work rules, and employment contracts as required.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Proven skills in developing people; coaching and shaping a high-performing team.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles and/or the Gilbarco Production System.
- Ability to develop, understand, and utilize standard work processes and training matrices.
- Strong leadership skills with an inclusive coaching style.
- Change management experience with the ability to set demanding targets and motivate teams to perform beyond comfort zones.
- Ability to translate company goals into action.
- Strong personal credibility, integrity, and creativity.
- Strong analytical skills for problem solving.
- Ability to learn and master Vontier business systems.
