Overview
This position is for Custodian Supervisor I at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. The salary is $3,774.00 - $4,729.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. Final Filing Date: Until Filled.
This is a permanent, full-time, in-office position on the day shift: 8:30am - 5:30pm, Tuesday – Saturday. The work location is in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead the activities of a crew of 5-7 Custodian I staff.
- Maintain and clean offices, restrooms, buildings, and other assigned areas across State property, ensuring areas are clean and orderly.
- Operate a variety of cleaning tools and equipment.
- Serve as the first point of contact for personnel-related tasks, including timekeeping, performance management, health and safety, and training.

Desirable Qualifications
- Professional cleaning experience as a lead or supervisor.
- Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, management, and other government agency representatives with tact and good judgment.
- Demonstrated history of good attendance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a team environment.
- Experience/ability to operate janitorial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work within demanding time frames and maintain a positive attitude.
