NFI is hiring: Forklift Operator II in Commerce City

Overview

The Forklift Operator II is responsible for operating material handling equipment for moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and may also perform order filler or order checker duties in addition to their own. This position operates multiple types of forklift equipment and works within a rack warehouse environment. Forklift operator must be able to operate sit-down/standup, clamp, cherry and reach equipment. Forklift certification is required on at least three pieces of equipment. Must operate 50% or more of their time on these types of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Stacks and stores merchandise in designated areas using sit-down/standup, clamp, cherry and/or reach equipment (50% of service time).
• Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations.
• Pulls and prepares products for shipment.
• Ensures that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
• Performs picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
• Moves product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers.
• Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
• Maintains appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security.
• Assists in physical inventories and cycle counts as requested.
• Ensures proper stock rotation and reports inventory discrepancies to inventory control and assists in resolution.
• Completes inspection forms prior to operating equipment and uses RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Requires Excel knowledge and general computer skills; maintains basic safety understanding in operating equipment and reports safety concerns to management in a timely manner.
• Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• At least 1 year forklift experience and/or experience with warehouse distribution equipment.
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours; lift and/or pull 50 lbs. without restriction.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Walking in the DC and around area with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length.
• Able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation and able to access all areas of building without limitations.
• Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Attention to detail, good customer service skills and basic math skills.

The base hourly pay rate for this posting is between $24.00 and $26.40 per hour. The base pay range is a guideline for market-competitive pay and may be adjusted based on expertise, performance and tenure. This range is one component of NF\'s total compensation package.
