Oncology RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Location: North Chesterfield, Virginia (Zip: 23235)
• Unit: 2 North Oncology – 24 beds
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00-19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 8/18/2025 – End: 11/17/2025)
• Weekend Scheduling: 4 weekend days required during assignment
• Documentation System: Meditech EMR
• Dress Code: Navy Blue uniform
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1750 - $1800
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent medical/surgical nursing experience
• Oncology nursing or chemotherapy administration experience preferred
• Ability to float to other clinical units as needed
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills
  
  

Oncology Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to oncology patients
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patient responses in a clinical setting
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR system
• Participate in bedside shift reports, hourly safety rounds, and patient experience initiatives
• Collaborate with physicians, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and unit secretaries using iMobile phones
• Enhance patient experience through effective communication and use of whiteboards
• Comply with unit guidelines, hospital policies, and safety protocols
