• Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse – Locum Tenens
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Location: Asheville, NC 28801
• Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Shift: 12 Hour Days (9:00 AM – 9:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 26 weeks (Start: 10/13/2025 – End: 4/13/2026)
• Number of Beds: 40
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scrub Colors: Surgical green or navy
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2000-$2270

PACU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of PACU or critical care nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale experience
• Trauma and pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Advanced skills in ventilator monitoring
• Ability to float within peri-anesthesia units (Endoscopy, PreOp, Phase II) as needed

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care to diverse patient populations
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from surgical procedures
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize standard PACU equipment and Cerner electronic documentation system
• Participate in a 6-week scheduling cycle, including 3 required call shifts
• Assist with lab draws, catheterizations, and patient transport as needed
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for patients and staff
