ER Registered Nurse Job Details

• Job Title: Locum Tenens Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Location: Sanford, NC 27330 (easy access to Raleigh, Durham, and the Research Triangle)
• Facility: 21-bed Emergency Department (includes telemetry, behavioral health, and fast track rooms)
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (potential to extend)
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680 - $1730

ER Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent emergency room nursing experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills
• Compliance with hospital dress code: scrubs (any color), no open-toed footwear, spandex pants, or sweatshirts

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform trauma assessments, resuscitation, IV therapy, IV drips, oxygen support, and administer blood products
• Monitor and interpret basic telemetry/EKG
• Respond to a variety of emergency diagnoses, including COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac and neurological emergencies, and stroke
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EHR
• Participate in ongoing clinical training and orientation
