Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Night Shift – Locum Tenens Nursing Job in Battle Creek, Michigan

Seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a locum tenens Med/Surg position in Battle Creek, MI (49017). This Michigan nursing job offers a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a leading hospital's Medical Surgical and Oncology Unit.

Key Job Details – Michigan Nursing Jobs

• Position Title: Travel RN – Med/Surg (Locum Tenens)
• Specialty: Medical Surgical Nursing, Oncology Nursing
• Location: Battle Creek, Michigan 49017
• Healthcare Setting: 37-bed adult and geriatric unit
• Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekly Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1840-$1890
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Staffing Ratio: 1:5-6 for nights (may flex to 8 patients with LPN support)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Float to other Med/Surg units as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN License (pending license accepted with ETA)
• BLS (AHA) certification (pending accepted, must be willing to obtain)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience (2 years preferred)
• Availability for full orientation week
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions accepted)
• Professional references required
• Ability to work collaboratively with RNs, LPNs, Techs, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses
• Specialize in gastrointestinal, urological, gynecological surgeries, and oncology patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Pharmacy, etc.)
• Float to other Medical Surgical units as needed, typically once per week
• Work every other weekend and participate in unit coverage
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Complete annual and orientation modules (self-reported, non-billable)
