Travel Nursing Job Details

• Job Title: Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg Travel Assignment
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing (locum tenens)
• Healthcare Setting: Med Surg Oncology Unit (LAC Resource Team)
• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Start Date: October 20, 2025
• End Date: January 17, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 16 weeks)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per month (based on unit need)
• Orientation: Every other Monday
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680 - $1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State
• Minimum 2 years of recent oncology nursing or relevant specialty experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application
• Approved declinations for COVID/Flu vaccinations accepted

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to oncology patients in a Med Surg setting
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other nursing units as needed, based on facility requirements
• Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and educate patients and families
• Accurately document care using Cerner EMR
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
