Responsibilities

  1. Understand welding symbols and select proper materials for fitting, painting, and shipping.
  2. Locate approved pieces, gather equipment, and perform welding according to specifications.
  3. Clean welded pieces for the next processing phase.
  4. Adhere to safety, QA/QC programs, and OSHA regulations.
  5. Work overtime and maintain punctual attendance.
  6. Perform additional functions as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of welding experience required.
  • Experience with Flux Core welding required.
  • Ability to read welding symbols and structural drawings.
  • Pass a tape measure test and unlimited thickness groove plate test in vertical and overhead positions using FCAW and SMAW.
  • Ability to carbon arc gouge the backside of butt joints.

Physical Demands

  • Lift at least 80 pounds frequently.
  • Work overtime, including weekends, as required.
  • Perform bending and stooping in difficult welding positions.
  • Tolerate temperature fluctuations and work in dusty/noisy environments.
  • All physical demands are essential functions.
