Overview
Lexicon is seeking a skilled Structural Fitter to join our team. This role involves fabrication and assembly of structural components, following shop drawings and industry standards. Safety and quality are priorities in all duties.
Pay
Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $28.00/hr. Structural Fitter pay range: $19-$28/hr. Pay is shown in the job post and is aligned with experience and responsibilities.

Structural Fitter – Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Layout and assemble fabricated parts in accordance with shop drawings using AISC and AWS standards.
- Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products according to blueprint and layout specifications, preparatory to welding or riveting.
- Locate and mark centerline and reference points onto floor or face block and transpose them to the workpiece.
- Move parts into position, manually or by hoist/overhead crane. Align parts and prepare for final assembly.
- Adhere to all company safety and OSHA regulations.
- Work overtime as required and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Performs non-essential duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent with a certificate from Vo-Tech or Trade school in mechanics.
- Ability to fit most structural steel including beams, columns, braces, and simple frames.
- Ability to pass Class B welding test (e.g., 1G FCAW, 3G FCAW, 4G FCAW, 1G SMAW, 3G SMAW, 4G SMAW, 1G SAW).
- Excellent math skills.
- Ability to pass a tape measure test.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds frequently.
- Requires bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, and other physical activities.
- Exposure to temperature fluctuations and a noisy work environment.
- considerable overtime and weekend work may be required.
