American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Process Technician for our Simpsonville, SC location. This position will report to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain standard cycle times and part quality
- Understand and communicate information in the job packet pertaining to specification sheets, standard routing, B.O.M.’s, scrap reports, and quality requirements
- Identify all resins used in molding operation including regrind and the associated usage percentage
- Operate the operator interface CRT screen on computer-controlled presses, including all screens required to control the process
- Establish a new process, perform mold setups, robot programming, and start a machine based on settings in Mold Books/QR Code
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of hot runner systems, valve gates, and standard sprue molds
- Troubleshoot issues on Injection Molding machines and Robots
- Other duties as assigned by Management
Fixed Schedule
All four shifts A, B, C, D are scheduled on a 2/2/3 pattern. This schedule gives you a 3-day weekend every other week. The pattern consists of four 12-hour shifts working two days in a row, two days off, and then three days, resulting in 14 working days each month.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States of America
- Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen & Authorize Background Check
- Must be able to work a 12-hour shift
- Knowledge of operating Injection molding machines such as Engel, Milacron, Battenfeld, UBE and HPMs
- Knowledge of Wittman and Servpro Robots preferred
- Organized, detail oriented, team player with a sense of urgency
- Resourceful with ability to apply critical problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
- Applicant must have 2+ years’ experience as a process tech in injection molding or similar process
- Follow departmental documentation procedures
- 5S and Lock Out Tag Out experience preferred
