Lilly is entering an exciting period of growth and we are committed to delivering innovative medicines to patients around the world. This is a chance to be part of a new, environmentally conscious, and highly automated campus project in Concord, North Carolina, focusing on parenteral (injectable) medications, device assembly, and packaging operations. This role supports start-up activities to bring the area into service and will become the expert within the assigned area, educating the team in proper operation of the facility. After project completion, the role ensures continuous supply by running the process, troubleshooting, collaborating cross-functionally, and upholding safety and quality standards.

Overview

Organization: Lilly Manufacturing. Location: Concord, NC (new site). Type: Full-time, night shift (2-2-3 schedule, 6pm–6am). This role offers growth into future leadership and technical positions as part of a growing site.

Responsibilities

  • Support start-up activities required to bring the PAR (Parenteral) area into service, including formulation, aseptic isolator barrier filling, and visual inspection.
  • Operate equipment and perform activities to meet production schedules; troubleshoot issues; and drive safety, quality, and productivity to maintain reliable patient supply.
  • Serve as a technical leader and primary point of contact for issue escalation on the shop floor; administer and deliver technical training to operators.
  • Check execution documentation (Electronic Batch Records, SAP, Cleaning Logs) and strive to improve safety performance, reduce deviations, and training compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support continuous improvement and site operations; develop self and team capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license; must pass a fitness-for-duty physical exam and a vision/color vision assessment (must be 20/20 corrected).
  • Experience in operations or manufacturing environments; must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship expected).
  • Ability to work 6pm to 6am on a 2-2-3 schedule; ability to wear safety equipment and gown in a cleanroom (Grade C, ISO 8).

Experience and Skills

  • Experience with aseptic filling, isolator technology, single-use assemblies, automated/semi-automated/manual inspection; knowledge of cGMPs and pharmaceutical/medical device industries.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, SAP, Electronic Batch Records) and familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch release.
  • Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience; strong communication, leadership, and training capabilities.
  • STEM degree or certifications preferred; ability to work overtime as required.

Compensation and Benefits

Actual compensation will depend on education, experience, skills, and location. Anticipated wage: $17.30 – $39.06 per hour. Full-time employees may be eligible for a company bonus and a comprehensive benefits program including 401(k), pension, health/dental/vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, paid time off, and well-being programs.
