Position Summary
The Operator I, Mail Finishing – 3rd Shift is responsible for individual activities related to cutting and folding direct mail pieces, joining within and complying with Bolingbrook operational processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up Tecnau & Hunkeler finishing lines.
- Operate and set up traditional cutters and folders in bindery.
- Enter data into ERP and monitor overall performance, efficiency, and quality.
- Perform equipment start-up, shut-down and preventive maintenance.
- Sample and monitor product quality coming off the system, making modifications as needed.
- Troubleshoot finishing line performance and quality problems, correcting them and stabilizing performance as they occur.
- Replenish materials ongoing as materials are depleted.
- Maintain production, efficiency and quality records related to the finishing/bindery operation.
- Support the manufacture of personal products through a continuous production operation, understanding work methods and procedures as well as various binding machines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Effective process management skills.
- Mechanical skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to document regular activities and e-mail correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to multi-task.
- Aptitude for accuracy and a meticulous eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Not responsible for supervising other employees.
Work Environment
Indoor, temperature controlled, production facility.
Physical Demands
- Stand for at least 8 hours/day.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required for specific job functions.
Security Clearance
Amsive is a Federal Contractor, and this position may require government security clearance for certain projects.
