Responsibilities

  • The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for a group of Mechanics and will oversee and assign daily work orders regarding project work, new construction, equipment installation, general building maintenance, emergency equipment repairs and assist other maintenance groups throughout the facility to support manufacturing goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation of the plant’s existing maintenance program to include preventative maintenance.
  • Work in collaboration with the operating staff to ensure that the plant is safe and operates at peak conditions on a daily basis.
  • Manage and develop direct staff; assign and supervise delegated daily work assignments in an efficient, safe manner and in accordance with established plant GMP and Safety policies.
  • Report all observed safety hazards to management.
  • Conduct daily inspection rounds of the facility, coordinate maintenance and repair work with operations departments in process areas.
  • Maintain professional conduct, observe plant rules and policies, maintain shift continuity, and contribute to a team effort.
  • Direct the work activities of multi-skilled Mechanics responsible for maintenance across the facility including general building maintenance, equipment installation, electrical construction, metal fabrication and welding, mechanical and sanitary piping, lift truck repairs and emergency equipment repairs.
  • Keep equipment rooms, fabrication sites, and work areas clean and orderly.
  • Plan and schedule work assignments to minimize production downtime; ensure parts and supplies are ordered ahead of time as schedules require.
  • Be on call as required by plant emergencies and operational needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of plant operations and assist other departments or operational groups as needed.
  • Maintain records of day-to-day maintenance and service activities, prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations to improve plant operations and resolve maintenance-related problems.
  • Evaluate subordinate performance and ensure technicians are trained on updated operating procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and OSHA rules while performing maintenance functions.
  • Demonstrate the Company’s core values and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience in electrical controls and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and lead a team of subordinates.
  • Sound knowledge of machinery repair techniques, machine shop practices, welding, electrical construction, pipefitting, basic lifting and rigging, and use of hand and power tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical/electrical).
  • Good judgment and ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Promotes teamwork, maintains a positive attitude, and demonstrates flexibility to perform tasks.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; relevant certifications preferred.
  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance supervisor experience preferred; automation experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ensures compliance with AIB, SQF, OSHA and other relevant standards.

Compensation
$80,325 to $112,455 annually
