Job Description

The Supervisor of Manufacturing Operations will manage and oversee daily production activities to ensure adherence to cGMPs and SOPs, optimize production efficiency, and improve quality while minimizing raw material waste. Responsibilities include supervising production schedules, leading a team of operators and technicians, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise, train, and motivate production staff to achieve high performance and productivity; manage training and development to ensure compliance with cGMPs and enhance work quality and quantity.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, and safety regulations; coordinate maintenance and repairs; collaborate with Engineering on equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure raw material usage and product yields meet or exceed standards.
  • Work with the department manager to assess needs, plan, schedule, and prioritize tasks to improve customer service and departmental efficiency.
  • Provide technical support on equipment and processes; troubleshoot issues; monitor and adjust production tooling; evaluate tooling effectiveness.
  • Monitor safety protocols and address unsafe conditions promptly.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years in manufacturing, including supervisory experience in Softgel, Pharmaceutical, or Manufacturing sectors.

Skills:

  • Proficient in English communication; able to understand and follow procedures; basic math and mechanical skills; forklift operation (preferred).

Knowledge:

  • Technical expertise in Solid Dosage formulations, OROS technology, Laser Drilling, Ink Printing, and knowledge of FDA & DEA regulations.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean principles; coordination with Engineering for maintenance and validation; experience with CAPA, change control, and SOP updates; knowledge of Liquid Filled Hard Gelatin Capsule manufacturing and machinery support for extended-release formulations.
