Location: Wadsworth, OH. Parker Hannifin serves the industrial and oil and gas markets with high-quality rotary and rodless pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders in a fully climate-controlled facility on two shifts.
Position Highlights
- Starting pay up to $31.80/hour depending on experience plus $2.00/hour shift differential
- Sign-on bonus $5,000
- Shift: Sunday night through Friday morning — 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Training on 1st shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with transition to 3rd shift
Responsibilities
- Safely operate, set up and produce quality components using CNC mills and lathes and/or manual machines
- Operate and set up one or more CNC machines simultaneously
- Select, replace, and set up tooling
- Edit CNC programs (G-code or conversational)
- Troubleshoot and correct machining issues
- Partner with maintenance to repair machines including calibration
- Utilize CAD/CAM software (preferred)
- Design and fabricate tooling/fixturing (preferred)
- Support rotation of machine assignments to foster cross-training
- Cross training on designated equipment using the skills matrix for setup and operation
- Support training of all machinists
- Create and maintain setup sheets with process engineering
- Use DNC to load/save CNC programs
- Analyze tooling wear to improve operational performance
- Develop processes involving workholding, cutting tools, programming, and peripheral equipment
- Generate or modify programs using macros and variables
- Monitor machines, fixtures, gauging, materials, and parts for defects
- Perform machine-specific tooling offsets and adjust tooling to maintain production within specifications
- Record and respond to discrepancies with standard inspection gauges and, if needed, CMM
- Perform housekeeping to maintain 5S and safety standards
- Submit waste reductions/cost avoidance through quality concern reports
- Follow standard work, process sheets and work instructions
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- CNC coursework completed through Wayne County Career Center or equivalent experience
- Ability to create and edit CNC programs for G-code and/or conversational
- 7+ years of machining experience (programming, tooling, gauging and machining methods)
- Proficient computer skills (Office365, MSS, etc.)
- Proficient blueprint reading
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to changing roles and priorities
- Overhead crane certification preferred (will train onsite)
- Forklift certification preferred
