Overview

Manufacturing Production Manager - 3rd Shift at Siemens. Location: Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available. Reports to the Senior Manufacturing Manager.

Role

The Production Manager will lead the 3rd shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) manufacturing line in Wendell, NC, manage production activities, report operational KPI’s, and oversee operational improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day production operations to exceed customer expectations
  • Drive 6S initiatives across each manufacturing line
  • Drive safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements
  • Plan and direct investments to improve productivity and provide production capacity aligned with sales objectives and manufacturing strategy
  • Eliminate wastes, improve cycle times, and reduce throughput times in production
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets
  • Update processes, procedures, and work instructions in coordination with the Technical Department
  • Collect and analyze data to identify waste or overtime opportunities
  • Develop leaders and increase employee competency
  • Drive inventory optimization
  • Manage production order tasks in Salesforce.com
  • Ensure accurate manufacturing hours in SAP production bill of materials
  • Foster an ownership culture where all employees feel integral to the business
  • Participate actively during audits and customer visits

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree typically in Business Management, Operations, Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or related facility knowledge
  • Managerial understanding of critical success factors in Manufacturing/Operations
  • Strong process mindset with Lean manufacturing experience
  • Result- and solution-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example
  • Strong team-building and people management skills
  • Ability to make smart decisions independently
  • Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Scheduling, Purchasing, Logistics, Quality, Finance, and other functions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medium voltage or low voltage switchgear
  • Knowledge of SAP and Salesforce
  • Master’s degree
  • Proficient in English and Spanish
