Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Manager - Household Goods to join our team. The successful candidate will provide department support and supervise staff in the HHG Department, manage and meet customer requirements, conduct online or in-person surveys, coordinate pickup and delivery orders, issue freight bills and invoices, and supervise and direct staff.
- Provide department support and supervise staff in the HHG Department
- Manage and meet customer requirements including shipment upgrades & coordination
- Conduct an online or in-person survey of customer home, also create and submit an estimate
- Coordinate pickup and delivery orders with trucking companies, airlines, steamship line and/or bonded facilities
- Issue freight bills and invoices and responsible for collecting unpaid invoices within credit term
- Supervise and direct staff in performing work according to operations procedures
- Train Export Staff
- Monitor the preparation of HHG Export shipments and distribution of Export Documents
- Ensure department is in compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable government regulation
- Document, record and report all discrepancies to include missed deadlines
- Work professionally and effectively with operations staff to achieve target goals
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with management, and co-workers
- Propose and visit the company in charge to make connections
- Handle other job assignments as determined by the Department Manager
- Salary: $75,000 to $80,000
Qualifications
- Bilingual English/ Japanese; ability to read, write & speak English and Japanese
- Good verbal and written communication skill
- Advanced Knowledge of MS Office Products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Capability to schedule, organize and work independently
- Knowledge of Regulatory & HHG Standards
- At least 3 years of experience in HHG business
- Knowledge of international Moving (Incoterms, method, customs regulations etc.) desirable
- Must be able to work flexible work schedule as needed to meet the business demands
