We are hiring a Senior Manager level individual to support our growing Consumer Goods business. The role focuses on expertise in Revenue Growth Management (RGM) advisory, coupled with broader end-to-end commercial-excellence experience. This individual will join a high-performing unit delivering best-in-class RGM strategies across the consumer goods universe. The position offers fast development into a leadership role within the practice.
Responsibilities
- As a Senior Manager, you will be a vital member of our Consumer consulting team focused on Consumer Goods strategy, with particular focus on commercial excellence.
- Lead and manage the delivery of client engagements while elevating analysis and insights, and infusing client-centric depth for content, expertise, and knowledge to project deliverables.
- Experience in market segmentation (e.g., demand spacing, occasion strategy, consumer segmentation), channel & customer strategy, go-to-market strategy, revenue growth management (e.g., pricing, price-pack architecture, promotions excellence, trade investment, and active mix management), and sales excellence (e.g., sales force effectiveness, customer management, incentives).
- Drive project planning and execution by ensuring alignment of project delivery to client needs and objectives, and manage project cost structure and margin.
- Lead and guide a large team of junior consultants to develop innovative and actionable insights and recommendations using data, analytics, and research that deliver impact for clients.
- Develop trusted senior-level advisory relationships by delivering high-quality, tailored recommendations that clients can execute to realize benefits.
- Engage senior client audiences at all stages of their commercial growth strategy, understanding client needs and obtaining buy-in for recommendations and solutions.
- Expand and develop relevant new capabilities, tactics, and tools to advance client business goals.
- Identify and engage prospective clients to understand their needs, priorities, and challenges and expand our commercial growth strategy footprint, offerings, and client base.
- Provide exceptional client service and client-focused communication, including during challenging situations.
- Prepare client-ready deliverables and present findings and recommendations to senior client audiences, incorporating client feedback.
- Manage multiple engagements and project teams, including developing team members through coaching and feedback.
- Lead project teams to defined end-goals with clear roles, strong project management, and primary client contact.
- Create engagement workplans and guide the team through project activities, including primary/secondary research and qualitative/quantitative analysis to derive key insights and takeaways.
- Oversee the work of team members across engagements, providing timely feedback to balance timelines and deliverable quality.
- Steer the growth of Simon-Kucher's Consumer sector in the Consumer Goods practice by contributing to priorities, pursuing new business opportunities, and developing thought leadership and client content; pursue follow-on opportunities with existing clients.
- Stay current on business and industry trends relevant to clients; analyze existing processes and tools for improvement.
- Coach and develop consultants; act as Career Development Advisor to junior team members.
- Demonstrate empathy and emotional intelligence in managing conflict and communicating change.
- Participate in recruitment and integration of new Consumer consultants; contribute to Simon-Kucher's culture and success.
Your Profile
- Outstanding drive, determination, and desire to be part of a growing, top-tier consulting firm.
- Strong knowledge and passion for the Consumer sector, with focus on Consumer Goods.
- An undergraduate degree is required; MS, MA, MBA, or other advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in a professional services environment, ideally in management consulting for the Consumer sector (Consumer Goods).
- Proven consulting expertise in growth strategies, go-to-market strategy, segmentation (advanced analytics), product and portfolio design, pricing, marketing, value proposition development, distribution strategy (omni-channel, digitization, channel orchestration), sales strategies (sales efficiency, processes, incentives), and monetization strategies.
- Strong analytical skills to distill insights from large data sets and present findings clearly to senior audiences.
- Experience solving complex problems, directing teams, and delivering projects on tight timelines; track record in selling and managing new and follow-on engagements.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, including work plans, deliverables, budgets, schedules, and accounts receivable.
- Strong work ethic, collaborative approach, entrepreneurial mindset, and inclusive leadership style.
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time.
Pay range for this position in New York is $190,000-$200,000/year. Compensation may vary by experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs. Benefits include paid time off, 13 paid holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, and 401(k) eligibility with company matching.
