Warehouse Associate - Runner at Baldor Specialty Foods, Inc.

Base pay range: $18.00/hr

Position Summary

This position is on a rotation basis. This position encompasses different roles in order to expose employees to new knowledge, skills and perspectives. For employee’s growth and longevity here Baldor, it is necessary to learn all roles and functions of the Warehouse. Warehouse Associate II is a trainable position, which helps shape employees into the more complex roles within Receiving, Order Selection, Bin Audit, and Quality Control.

Rotation and Roles

The rotation includes the following roles:

  • WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE II
  • FC Picker
  • FC Receiver
  • Bin Audit
  • Jr. Receiver
  • Quality Control

Essential Job Functions

  • Must be able to work in various temperatures, freezer (-35), grocery, and cooler (30 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Must be able to stand for long hours (10 hours min.).
  • Must be able to bend, twist, climb, and lift 5 to 20 lbs. constantly, 15 to 30 lbs. frequently, and 30 to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand and walk 7 to 10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to work six days per week and sometimes a shift with over twelve hours.
  • Must be able to work a rotational schedule with mandatory overtime.
  • Must have a clear understanding of HACCP, GMP, and OSHA guidelines to work safely and efficiently.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • FC Picker: interpret instructions from WMS and RF devices to accurately and efficiently pick orders; understand GMP, HACCP, and OSHA regulations; identify produce; operate warehouse equipment; maintain sanitation; observe and correct hazardous conditions; inspect stock items; maintain merchandise in stock locations; report damages; maintain an average pick rate of 100 cases per hour; perform vehicle safety inspections; safely operate warehouse equipment; work with Fresh Cuts Department; build pallets following GMP and HACCP standards; arrive on time.
  • FC Receiver: interpret instructions from WMS and RF devices; understand GMP, HACCP, OSHA regulations; work with Fresh Cuts Department; report shorts, damages or defects; follow LIFO/FIFO; use pallet jack/stand up forklift; locate items; communicate with Receiving team; handle and package product; enter data accurately; arrive on time.
  • Bin Audit: record counts and physical state of inventory; support teammates; maintain attention to detail; learn location conventions; learn receiving/picking/replenishment processes; work with others; instruct associates on system transactions; lift parts/boxes as needed; meet weight requirements; communicate with Sanitation regarding waste; follow GMP/HACCP; arrive on time.
  • Junior Receiver: use pallet jack/ forklift; learn produce knowledge to unload, sort, receive, inspect; place returned products; communicate with Returns team; inspect quality; enter data accurately; follow FIFO/LIFO; report shorts or damages; arrive on time.
  • Quality Control: examine merchandise against requisitions; enter return information; assess quality of received product; report item conditions discrepancies; maintain sanitation; ensure accuracy of goods received; follow FIFO/LIFO; communicate on waste; arrive on time.
