JOB SUMMARY
Join our team as a Maintenance Worker and play a vital role in keeping our correctional facility safe, secure, and operational. In this position, you’ll perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks to ensure our buildings, grounds, and equipment remain in top condition. From carpentry and painting to mechanical and preventative upkeep, your work will directly support a safe environment for staff, offenders, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and adjust facility systems, including pumps, alarms, gauges, heating and cooling units, and electrical components. Notify licensed trades or contractors when specialized work is required.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, structures, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including supply requests, duty logs, vehicle reports, and equipment check-outs.
- Contribute to a culture of safety by following proper procedures and supporting facility security standards.
Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in light duty construction or maintenance including preventative maintenance.
- Two years of basic blueprint drawing or reading is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a low-pressure boiler license within one year of employment.
- Must have and maintain a Montana driver’s license in good standing.
Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
