Journeyperson Electrician Job at Cannon Solar in Des Moines

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in various settings, including commercial and residential environments. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work is performed safely and in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical work, including experience with high voltage systems and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Duties

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with NEC standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as an ohmmeter and other diagnostic equipment.
• Renovate existing electrical systems to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
• Utilize power tools safely and effectively for various tasks on construction sites.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working on high-voltage systems.
• Perform routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues before they become major problems.

Requirements

• Valid Journeyperson Electrician license or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience as a commercial electrician or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of NEC regulations and safety standards related to electrical work.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents related to electrical systems.
• Familiarity with power tools and hand tools commonly used in electrical installations and repairs.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team on construction sites.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Maintenance experience is a plus but not required.
