Overview

Job Title: Industrial Electrician

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of electrical wiring, controls, motors, and machinery to support production and facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery.
• Install and maintain motor controls, PLCs, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineers, maintenance staff, and other trades to complete projects.
• Keep accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license (as required by state/local regulations).
• 3+ years of experience in industrial or commercial electrical work preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces.
• Proficient with electrical testing tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

• Industrial and manufacturing settings with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Requires the use of PPE (hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.).
• May involve overtime, shift work, and emergency call-ins.
