Pay: $60,000

Primary Duties

  • Recruitment
    • Recruit for all positions including internal and external postings/advertisements and obtain budget approval for new positions with the corporate office.
    • Negotiate contracts with local employment agencies for temporary staffing needs.
    • Obtain eligible compensation level/range for positions from Corporate Compensation.
    • Interview candidates and validate screening steps; ensure results meet standards for the position.
    • Assist hiring managers in making selections, including transfers and promotions, and extend job offers for positions.
    • Serve as backup for HR Manager or HR Generalist.
  • HRIS Transactions
    • Coordinate onboarding and integration materials for new hires, rehires, transfers, and promotions.
    • Review and approve letters of offer, transfer, or promotion.
    • Invite and track attendance at new hire orientations to achieve prompt attendance.
    • Collect, review, submit, and file all related HR paperwork.
    • Ensure new worksites and managers are prepared for new hires, including first day plans.
    • Process HRIS requests in Workday.
  • Compliance
    • Create personnel folders with required compliance documentation.
    • Provide necessary documentation with quality control to ensure completeness and accurate data entry.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOPs, and HR laws.
    • Lead routine HR audits and compliance audits.
  • Employee Relations
    • Provide focused employee relations support, including handling complex issues such as layoffs, terminations, harassment or other discrimination complaints, and PIPs.
    • Brief and discuss complaints and investigations with the HR Manager and communicate results to affected employees and managers.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits to Colorado and Nebraska locations as needed.
  • Monitor leave usage to ensure compliance with FMLA and related policies.
  • Review pre-check reports to ensure timely approval of timesheets; verify terminations/changes are accurately entered into employee profiles.
  • Facilitate processing of benefit program requests (e.g., tuition reimbursement, leave donations) and coordinate with Benefits/Payroll for final approval.
  • Coach managers on transfers/promotions/demotions, including impacts on wages, benefits, performance expectations, timelines, HRIS actions, and costs.
  • Conduct exit interviews and proactively engage managers on corporate needs and employee development.
  • Maintain confidential personnel files and benefits records in line with policies and HR laws; emphasize confidentiality, efficiency, and completeness.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety and environmental codes and laws.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related discipline.
  • Required: Two (2) years of HR experience or five (5) years of management/leadership experience.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification or ability to obtain within the first 18 months in the position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of human resources laws and compliance requirements.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to learn and become an expert user of HRIS systems.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal skills for interactions across all levels of staff.
  • Solid knowledge of human resource administration principles and practices.
