McGuireWoods has a need for an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join its team in New York, LA, or DC. This role will service a wide range of transactions and support an active commercial real estate practice. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, strong organizational and multitasking skills, and will embrace a team mentality. Review of title insurance commitments and property exception documents in connection with loan policies and owner’s policies. Review of surveys for compliance with ALTA and lender qualifications. Order and review UCC and tax lien search reports. Review of title and survey to create title objection letters and preparation of closing documents for purchase and sale of commercial real estate. Review of New York City zoning reports, including certificates of occupancy and HPD violations Review of Commercial Leases, estoppel certificates and SNDAs. Prepare and maintain closing checklists and timelines. Coordinate and organize documents for multi-state and multi-asset transactions. Prepare and negotiate escrow closing instructions. Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience as a commercial real estate paralegal strongly preferred. Strong familiarity with New York real estate law and regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
