The Technical Coordinator Imaging reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Radiology Manager and in collaboration with the Medical Director of the section, ensure the technical competence of staff and develop/implement all clinical protocols. Facilitate operational activities related to quality patient care and overall department function. Perform the duties of the staff radiographer and assume a lead role in daily operations, equipment performance, and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager. Design and coordinate orientation programs for technical and assistant personnel; train staff in applying clinical protocols and techniques; develop training programs for evolving radiology techniques. Provide and coordinate technical in-service education; assess job performance for appraisals; assist in developing departmental/institutional policies related to technical standards and compliance. Coordinate/communicate equipment service and preventative maintenance; collaborate with physicists on corrective action; participate in monthly staff meetings. Develop rapport with the Radiation Safety Officer to ensure regulatory and safety compliance; participate in new product reviews and supply ordering; perform other duties as assigned and staff the unit as needed. Leadership/Quality/Patient Care
Act as the technical subject matter expert for the section; maintain current knowledge of imaging and patient care equipment; monitor equipment logs for service/maintenance; report incidents of equipment failure and coordinate repairs. Maintain communication with radiologists to ensure quality of service; train staff on clinical protocols and evolving techniques; collaborate on performance appraisals using objective criteria. Participate in the Departmental Quality Improvement Plan; manage the Radiation Safety Program; oversee technical quality standards; support process improvement initiatives; collect data for quality measurement. Qualifications
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school/college of Radiologic Technology. Graduate of an accredited education program in radiography or magnetic resonance. CPR – BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA). Certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARMRIT in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Relevant clinical experience; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven leadership, planning, and quality skills. Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of experience. Benefits
