Job Description Summary
The GE Aerospace Research Employee & Site Communications Leader is a key member of the center's Communications team, responsible for leading employee and site communications at the GE Aerospace Research Center. This role includes supporting executive communications for the General Manager & Senior Executive Director. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with a blend of creative passion, curiosity, and exceptional writing and organizational skills. This position will also play a critical role in supporting the growing importance of the onsite experience at Niskayuna and ensuring alignment with the broader communications strategy.
Job Description
Employee Communications:
Develop and implement an internal communications strategy to engage employees
Manage the internal communications editorial calendar and platforms
Lead employee engagement campaigns (e.g. Engineering Week, Pi Day)
Collaborate with GE Aerospace's Corporate Affairs team to amplify company-wide initiatives (e.g. Engagement Survey)
Executive Communications:
Create and execute an internal communications plan for the General Manager & Senior Executive Director of the research center, under the supervision of the Head of GE Aerospace Research Communications
Draft, edit, and curate all-employee communications from the GM & Senior Director
Support research center all-employee meetings
Support annual kick-off and strategy meetings
Site Communications:
Serve as the primary Communications contact for all EHS, Facilities, and Security communications need
Partner with site teams to develop standard work for clear and efficient communications
Communications Operations:
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver communications using Mail Chimp, Staffbase, and Jetway
Conduct quarterly metrics analysis and provide actionable insights to improve communications effectiveness
Ensure compliance with company policies and standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, or a related field (preferred)
Experience working in a highly technical environment or with technical subject matter
Exceptional written communications skills
Proven experience working closely with senior executives
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a related role, ideally with a large industrial or research organization (preferred)

Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Experienced in event planning and execution
Strong project management skills with attention to detail
The base pay range for this position is 130,000 - 240,000 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary.
